My Take on the Prompt

The first time I saw it, the door was humming. Not loud — just a soft, low vibration in the wall where my bookcase had been the night before. It was old, dark wood with a brass knob that gleamed like it knew a secret. I didn’t touch it right away. I just stood there barefoot, heart hammering, wondering who had decided I needed a door in my bedroom at 2:17 a.m.
