A Heart Steady in Gratitude

Verse

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” – Psalm 136:1

Devotional Passage

Thankfulness isn’t something we reserve for moments when life feels smooth. True gratitude roots itself deeper than circumstance. It grows strongest in the quiet places, where we pause long enough to notice God’s goodness woven through the ordinary.

“Psalm 136 repeats a refrain in every one of its twenty-six verses, each declaring the same unshakable truth: God’s love endures forever. It’s as if God knew we would need the reminder. Gratitude begins with remembering who God is, how He loves, and the ways He has carried us through seasons we once feared we would never survive.

When we choose gratitude, even in small ways, something shifts in us. Our vision clears. Our spirit steadies. We begin to see blessings not as rare events but as everyday evidence of God’s presence. Gratitude doesn’t deny hardship; it illuminates hope within it.

Wherever you are today, hold fast to this truth: God’s goodness isn’t fragile. His love isn’t conditional. His faithfulness isn’t seasonal. You can give thanks because He’s with you, sustaining you, providing for you, and shaping your story with a steady and unfailing hand.

🕊️ Reflection/Prayer

Lord, teach my heart to give thanks in every season. Help me see Your goodness in both the gentle moments and the difficult ones. Grow a spirit of gratitude within me, one that remembers Your faithfulness and rests in Your enduring love. Amen.🙏
