When the Waiting Feels too Long
Verse
“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” – Psalm 37:7
Devotional Passage
Waiting can feel like standing at a door that refuses to open. The longer the silence stretches, the louder impatience begins to speak — whispering lies about being forgotten, unseen, or left behind. But God’s timing doesn’t bend to our clocks. His pace is deliberate, His pauses full of purpose.
Impatience wants to rush the story. God wants to perfect it. While you wrestle with “when,” He’s weaving a bigger “why.” The stillness you resent may be the very space where He’s preparing what you’ve prayed for — and preparing you to receive it.
🕊️ Reflection/Prayer
Lord, teach me to trust Your timing more than my own. Quiet the noise of impatience that makes me doubt Your faithfulness. Help me rest in the truth that You are never late, and that every waiting season holds purpose. Shape my heart while I wait, so I’m ready when You open the door. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen. 🙏
