Tip 9
First drafts aren’t meant to be beautiful. They’re meant to exist.
Too often, we strangle the magic before it can breathe — editing mid-sentence, judging every word, demanding perfection from something that’s only meant to begin. A first draft is a map drawn in pencil, not the finished cathedral. It’s you listening to the story for the first time.
Let it be messy. Let it ramble. Let it surprise you. The goal isn’t to get it right — it’s to get it real. You can polish a page full of rough ideas. You can’t revise a blank one.
✨ First drafts are where the story finds you.
