My Take on the Prompt:

She paused mid-stride, one hand still tangled in the string of lights. The ornament caught the glow just right—simple glass, slightly chipped, unmistakably familiar. It hadn’t been there last Christmas. She would have remembered. Slowly, she lifted it from the branch, her thumb brushing over the faint scratch near the top. Some things arrive quietly, she realized. Not as replacements for what was lost—but as proof that love finds its way back in new forms.
