Garter Stitch Edge

Rows 1—14: Knit each st across.

Stockinette Section

Row 1: K each st across.

Row 2: K9, p to last 9, k9.

Repeat rows 1 & 2 working stockinette stitch for a total of 10 rows in this section.

Seed Stitch Section

Row 1: K9, *(k1, p1) across to last 9, k9.

Row 2: K9, *(p1, k1) across to last 9, k9.

Repeat rows 1 & 2 for a total of 10 rows in this section.

Garter Stitch Section

Row 1: K each st across.

Repeat row 1 for a total of 10 rows in this section.

Irish Moss Stitch Section

Row 1: K9, *(k1,p1), repeat from * across to last 9 sts, k9.

Row 2: K9, *(k1,p1), repeat from * across to last 9 sts, k9.

Row 3: K9, *(p1, k1) repeat from * across to last 9 sts, k9.

Repeat these four rows for a total of 68 rows of Irish Moss Stitch in this section if you’re making the lapghan, and a total of 100 if you’re making the throw size.

Make it your own! Add poms, tassels, or other details to your blanket as desired.

Note: I used Bernat Maker yarn—a soft, 75% cotton and 25% nylon tube yarn—and worked the large blanket on 8mm (US 11) circular needles. I doubled the Irish moss section to 200 rows and used four skeins in total. This yarn really makes the stitches shine!
