Structure

The runner is knit flat, starting with a garter stitch border, followed by repeating snowflake lace panels, and ending with another garter border.

84 stitches total:

6-st garter border on each side

72-st wide lace panel in the center

If you want a narrower runner, you may reduce the central lace width in multiples of 24 sts, since each snowflake motif is 24 sts wide.

K2tog = knit 2 together (right-leaning decrease)

SSK = slip, slip, knit (left-leaning decrease)

Work 10 rows in garter stitch.

Bind off loosely knitwise.

Finishing:

Block the runner to open the lace and flatten the edges.
